Hotly-tipped Londoners Assembly Now were involved in a car crash this afternoon thanks to the high winds sweeping the country.
The foursome were travelling up the M40 in their tour van, en-route to their opening UK tour date at the Manchester Fandango, when they were hit by a sudden gust.
The band’s van was forced off the hard shoulder and went through the crash barrier.
Luckily for them, they escaped with only minor cuts and bruises and are still on course to make this evening’s show.
Drummer Lush said of the incident: "Our Van got knocked sideways off the hard shoulder and slid across the crash barrier. Unfortunately we were playing scrabble at the time and all the pieces knocked onto the floor."
Meanwhile, the band release their excellent second single ‘Leigh-On-Sea’ on January 29.
Their remaining tour dates are as follows:
Manchester Fandango @ Night & Day – January 19
Liverpool Korova - 20
Huddersfield Tokyo - 23
Hertford Marquee - 26
Birmingham Bar Academy - 28
Coventry Colosseum - 29
Oxford Zodiac - 30
London Old Blue Last – February 1
Southampton Unit 22 - 3
