Nine Inch Nails have revealed that their upcoming new album is ominously about the end of the world.
The band are locked in the studio in the final stages of mixing ‘Year Zero’ with Alan Moulder.
Speaking on the industrial metallers’ official website band lynchpin Trent Reznor said: “It could be about the end of the world.”
In a further interview with Kerrang! magazine, Reznor revealed that he “essentially wrote the soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist.”
He also admitted that he doesn’t give a **** about what the critics think of it, adding: "With this record I feel a lot less concerned about what people think about it - especially the dying record industry. I couldn't care less about that right now."
The album is scheduled for an April release.
