Bob Geldof was awarded a honorary doctorate this week from Newcastle University.
The singer/outspoken political campaigner, was dressed in full robes as he received his honorary Doctor of Civil Law degree, in recognition for his Make Poverty History campaign.
The Irish musician, who’s daughter Peaches Geldof had been in the media spot light recently, is most known for his hit ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ as well as his campaigns to tackle poverty in developing countries and global warming.
