The world famous Harrods department store is set to host a special exhibition over the coming months on the electric guitar.
The ‘Born to Rock’ exhibition takes place from January 29 to March 3 and charts the history and development of the electric guitar and its cultural impact.
The highlight of the exhibition will be the most expensive guitar in the world – created for Harrods and will be encrusted with real diamonds.
Artists such as Graham Coxon, Joseph Arthur, Bryan Adams, Sir Peter Blake and Jennifer Lopez will all have their customised guitars exhibited.
Instruments connected to some of the biggest icons in music like Mark Bolan, Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards, plus contemporary acts such as Alex Kapranos, will also be on display.
A series of live performance and guitar master classes are also being scheduled for the duration of the exhibition.
