James Brown Band Performs First Gig Since His Death

James Brown’s band The Soul Generals have given their first performance since the singer’s death last month.

The band were invited by promoter Don King to play before James Toney and Samuel Peter’s heavyweight fight last night.

Some relatives of James Brown – who died on Christmas Day of heart failure – were also invited into the ring to be introduced to the crowd at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

    • It is great to see that the band can still make a living. I have a lot of confidence in Fred Thomas and would love to see Bootsy, Maceo and Cheese Martin back. Keep it in the pocket! Chuck King Richmond, Va
