Noel Gallagher Accuses Green Day Of Stealing An Oasis Song

Noel Gallagher has had a dig at Green Day for apparently stealing the arrangement from one of Oasis’ best known songs.

The Oasis lynchpin believes that Green Day’s ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ bears more than a passing resemblance to ‘Wonderwall.’

But Noel isn’t too bothered that Billie Joe and co. allegedly stole the track – more that he’s still around to hear it.

He told Stuff:   “They should have the decency to wait until I am dead. I, at least, pay the people I steal from that courtesy.”

    • The song has been blatantly rippedoff from Wonderwall, but it’s a bit rich coming from someone who has made a fortune ripping people off. I think it might be a bit tongue in cheek from the boss to be fair, referring to letting him die first and all that......

    • Well Soulwax did a mix of the two ”Boulevard of Broken Songs” It shows how much alike they are and how unoriginal ”Pop” music in general is

    • Don’t think Noel was being too serious here. 2 great songs anyway.

    • Noel’s based his whole career on ripping off other bands so I think this must be a wind up... Just out of interest, why didn’t the estate of John Lennon sue over the Don’t Look Back In Anger intro?
