The Coral played their first gig in over two years with guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones last night, playing three new songs from their upcoming album.
The Liverpool band made their first live appearance in twelve months headlining the Deltasonic label’s Christmas charity gig at the city’s Carling Academy venue last night, which raised over £25,000 for the Alder Hey Childrens' Hospital.
Ryder-Jones has been replaced by a temporary guitarist for the band’s last live dates due to illness but the original line-up returned to play a storming set – including new tunes ‘Remember Me’, ‘In The Rain’ and ‘Who's Going To Find Me?'’, which will feature on the band’s fifth album released next year.
(Gigwise also has another top-notch exclusive for you - we can reveal Bill uses a Jim Dunlop .73MM plectrum after we caught it by mistake after climatic set closer 'Arabian Sands'. Remember kids - we're always first with the news that matters...)
