John Peel has been deemed the most influential man to British music in the past 20 years.
The legendary late DJ came out on top in an eMusic poll which was looking for the most significant and also worst offenders to the music industry.
Peel was voted ahead of the likes of Jools Holland and Glastonbury head man Michael Eavis.
At the other end of the scale, X Factor judge and Sony head Simon Cowell was voted as the worst to music.
Stock, Wiken and Waterman – responsible for such diatribes as Rick Astley – came in at a close second.
