Elton John has revealed that he will sing the Princess Diana version of ‘Candle In The Wind’ at next summer’s Concert for Diana.
Elton vowed to never the sing the reworked version of the song again after he sang it at Diana’s funeral in 1997…but has changed his mind.
‘Candle In The Wind’ became the biggest selling single of all time selling 33million copies, and next summer it will be back.
Speaking from Australia, where he is currently on tour Elton said of the tune: “I’ll do it if the Princes want me to.
“I am at their service and if they think it is appropriate then I’ll be ok for it. They’ll tell me when they are ready.”
The Concert For Diana will take place at Wembley Stadium next July, Elton John, Duran Duran and Joss Stone will all perform.
