A handwritten sheet of Beatles lyrics have sold at an auction in New York for $192,000 (£97,00).
The words to ‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer’ penned by Sir Paul McCartney were then presented to the musician’s biographer Barry Miles.
In the same sale a guitar owned by Jimi Hendrix which was formerly housed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sold for $168,000 (£85,000).
Other lots included a notebook owned by Bob Marley which went for $72,000 ( £36,445) and a poem written by Doors front man Jim Morrison which fetched £25,500.
