Arab Strap’s Aiden Moffat is to release a new album next year under his other guise L’Pierre.
Simply titled ‘Dip’, the long-player hits the shelves on January 15.
Different from Moffat’s previous solo efforts, the work is ambient and pursues the themes of mood and an organic sound.
He explains: “The album had a concept from the beginning. Its theme is nature and the great outdoors, and particularly the sea, hence ‘Dip’, a title I stole from the movie of the artist who kindly donated the film image for the artwork.”
The whole work was written and recorded before Arab Starp announced their split earlier this autumn.
