Former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has returned to the band three years after his departure.
The news was broken to fans as the bands official website was replaced with pictures of the band in the studio, all featuring Borland rehearsing with the frontman Fred Durst and co. The caption next to the pictures read ‘August Thirteenth Two Thousand And Four'.
Borland’s return means the band will say goodbye to replacement Mike Smith. Durst has spoken about Smith’s ousting in an interview with thearmpit.net.
"We are very content with Mike being gone,” Durst explained, "We are the type of people that stay true to our family and our instincts and at any moment will act on intuition as a whole. Mike wasn't the guy. We had fun playing with him, but always knew, in the back of our minds, that he wasn't where we needed him to be mentally.
“On that note,” Durst continued, “You can assume that the s**t we are writing now is f**king powerful and very emotionally laced with reality..."
Speaking on his online blog American Alien, Durst shared his forgiveness for Borland with the world: "Sometimes you have to find a place inside of you that lets you forgive. Without forgiveness we will hold on to poisons that will eventually ruin our souls. These poisons build up and rot inside of our minds creating dark clouds that become harder and harder to remove. Just recently I have learned to forgive in ways that I never thought possible. I'm not saying that there is no one on my life that I haven't forgiven because I can think fo several that remain a disturbing aggravating memory in my everyday thoughts, but over all I have stepped up to a new level. When Wes and I forgave each other for the negative things we were holding on to we both found ourselves closer than ever before, something I thought to never happen. And not just this particular person. I have forgiven many people who i swore I never would and I actually feel like a better person because of it.
"Just a little food for thought that we have all tasted before. I wanted to get it off my brain. Headed to a lunch meeting. Later."
According to reports, Limp Bizkit's new album will be released in February next year. The band have apparently begun work on the record. A greatest hits album will be released next month.
