‘Jumping the shark’ is a phrase used when a TV show pushes the viewer so far they lose interest in the show, it originates from the episode of ‘Happy Days’ when The Fonz jumped over a shark on jet ski’s. The musical equivalent would probably be an Oasis greatest hits album (but Noel assured us that will never happen… oh wait). Anyway the point is My Luminaries' new single is so stupendously brilliant with its Walkmen esque jangly intro, bouncy riffs and romantic wondering vocals that anyone who does not like it probably doesn’t have a heart or ears. Or both. Go add them to your Myspace friends, go see them on tour and go buy the single - God knows you deserve it.
