Radar – ‘5th Columnist’ (EMI) Released 13/11/06

Oh great, another band out to conquer the world with their ‘unique’ blend of Ska-pop indie-rock blah blah blah.  Radar, apparently delivering 21st mechanical dub pop with a modern ska-vibe, along with the other thousand shitty spotty bands.  But hang on a minute... it can’t be… it’s like a mashed up infectious ska beat with some kind of 90’s rave melody.  And the vocals “gamma rays are making me hot” are just pulsing through the veins.  Innovative, complex, raw, and hypnotic – stand up from the club to the council estate as ‘5th Columnist’ is coming your way whether you like it or not.
