Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour is set to honour Syd Barrett by releasing three songs in homage to him next month.
Speaking on his official website, Gilmour has revealed he will be releasing two versions of ‘Arnold Layne’ - a track originally written by Barrett for Pink Floyd.
The song was the Floyd’s first ever single, with the new live versions on this release were recorded at Gilmour’s Royal Albert Hall concerts earlier in the year.
One version features guest vocals from the legendary David Bowie, while the second features Pink Floyd’s very own Richard Wright.
The package will be augmented by an acoustic take on ‘Dark Globe’ – again penned by Barrett.
The three songs will be available to download from Christmas day and will hit the shelves later in December.
