Taking Back Sunday have designed a Christmas card to make money for charity.
The New York based band’s card features ‘a cheery intergalactic collage of Santa Clause, a reindeer and a walrus wearing astronaut helmets, floating through outer space with wrapped gifts, a Chanukah menorah and Christmas tree.’
All proceeds from the card sales will go to the American Cancer Society, Give Kids The World Village and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
The charities have been selected by drummer Mark O’Connell and bassist Matthew Robano’s mothers, both of whom have survived cancer, and guitarist Eddie Reyes’ brother who lost his daughter to cancer.
Frontman Adam Lazzara came up with the idea for the cards, which also feature personalized messages from the band inside.
Matt Robano says: “We are glad that during the holidays we can make a contribution by helping these charities and also showing our family members that have dealt with cancer how much we love and support them.
“It's a great feeling that people make these donations for our holiday cards and are willing to help."
The cards cost between $15 and $25 for a repeat pack and are available from the band’s official website www.takingbacksunday.com
