Noel Gallagher played a surprise acoustic set in Los Angeles last night (November 9).
Held at the city’s Wadsworth Theatre, Noel was joined by his Oasis bandmate Gem Archer on a set heavy with Oasis’ rare early material, including an un-common live outing for their 1994 classic one-off single ‘Whatever’.
Organised by local radio station Indie 103.1, tickets for the gig were rare, with listeners asked to call in for a chance to grab a pair.
Promoting the forthcoming Oasis greatest-hits ‘Stop The Clocks’, Noel told the crowd: “We did one of these in London last Thursday (referring to his charity solo show at KOKO with Dirty Pretty Things) and it was ****in’ chaos. You’re very well behaved, I must say”
Oasis’ 2005 tour movie ‘Lord Don’t Slow Me Down’, set for release next year, preceded the set.
According to NME.com, Noel’s L.A setlist was:
’(It's Good) To Be Free'
'Talk Tonight'
'Fade Away'
'Cast No Shadow'
'The Importance of Being Idle'
'Listen Up'
'Half the World Away'
'Wonderwall'
'Whatever'
'Slide Away'
'Strawberry Fields Forever'
'Don't Look Back in Anger'
'Married With Children'
‘Stop The Clocks’ is released on November 20.
