Combining the striking vocal influence of Kate Bush with the punk attitude of Blondie, The Hot Puppies’ re-release of ‘Terry’ shows their potential to be a great new-wave inspired indie-pop band. The single has a darkly seductive feel that subtly draws you in without you even noticing. In a genre finally becoming increasingly populated with female fronted/all female groups, The Hot Puppies provide a softer side to bands like the brilliant Long Blondes. So ignore the utterly ridiculous name and give them a listen.
