The Enemy

Tom Clarke – Guitar/Vocals
Andy Hopkins – Bass
Liam Watts – Drums

Through a mutual apathy towards the downward spiral of their hometown of Coventry due to economic decline, The Enemy have blazed a trail that is certain to steer them clear of their biggest fear of a shit job and the 9-5. Formed in March 2006 their rise has become almost instantaneous.

With majors scrabbling for their signature they finally settled on the Warner owned Stiff Records to release the first offing by the label in over 20 years. Debut single ’40 days and 40 Nights/Dancing All Night’ sold out its limited 7” run of 1000 copies within days. Their songs are reflections of the stark reality of their roots with a swagger and sneer that shows that they will not settle for the same existence. Coventry is an area heavily affected by the closure of its major employer, Peugeot, and this influence is clear in follow up single ‘It’s Not Ok’.

They add new songs almost by the gig and early comparisons to Oasis and Kasabian may not be wide of the mark if they continue with their current meteroic rise into the mainstream consciousness.
