Kurt Cobain Is Highest Earning Dead Celebrity

Kurt Cobain has topped a list of high earning dead celebrities.

The Nirvana frontman raked in $50million last year from royalties and licensing deals.

Cobain knocked Elvis Presley from his perch thanks to his widow Courtney Love selling a 25percent stake of his song catalogue.

The move has drawn criticism from many quarters because of Kurt Cobain’s anti-commercial stance. 

Elvis Presley accumulated $42million of income and had previously held on to the top spot for the four years between 2001 and 2004.

Elsewhere in the poll conducted by forbes magazine, John Lennon came in at four with $24million, Ray Charles is at eight with $10million and Johnny Cash is at ten with $8million.
