The Geordie now living in Nottingham hasn’t been around long but he’s causing a bit of a new traditionalist stir. It was touch and go if the 24 year old would succeed in music after a string of failed bands. As a last ditch attempt he entered a competition run by Dazed and Confused magazine who were searching for new talent. Within days of the demo reaching the magazine Nic Armstrong had signed his first record deal, and within weeks he had finished his debut album “The Greatest White Liar”, released in April 2004. The first release of his single “Natural Flair/ Down Home Girl” that came in November 2003 illustrated his concentration of the sound of the early 60’s while adding a modern twist. He also released an EP “Broken Mouth Blues” in March 2004.
