A blood-stained poster taken from the room Nancy Spungen was supposedly killed by Sex Pistols star Sid Vicious is to be displayed in a London gallery.
The poster will be joined by other artefacts belonging to the pair including original T-shirts, posters and handwritten lyrics at an exhibition taking place at The Hospital gallery in September.
The poster, an advert for the bands album ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’, has blood spattered over it, though there is no proof that the blood is Nancy’s or a result of the murder.
The collection has taken over 15 years to assemble by Paul Stolper and Andrew Wilson, deputy editor of Art Monthly, reports The Independent.
The items from the hotel room were sold at auction by Sid Vicious’ mother Anne Beverley.
The poster was taken from room 100 in the New York's Chelsea Hotel. The room was Sid and Nancy’s last home.
Vicious was charged with second degree murder after Nancy was stabbed to death in the room on October 12 1978. Vicious is believed to have killed his girlfriend in a drug induced trance.
Vicious was charged with second-degree murder, but died the following year following a heroin overdose while he was released on bail.
