With ‘Wasted Little DJ’s’ The View sparked a furor of Libertines comparisons and led chants of “The View are on fire!” all across the nation. So what have Dundee’s finest done on their second effort? Will it be a happy hardcore rave tune? Or maybe some pounding electro beats laden with samples? Well surprise surprise it is another tune straight from Pete ‘n’ Carls back pockets. Not that we are complaining, plagiaristic though they are, The View make romantic punk rock to get drunk and fall in love with. With lyrics like “I don’t want money, I’d like a thing called happiness” we are not looking at a new Morrissey here but they fit the simplistic racket that The View make. Short, sharp and brilliant The View can seemingly do no wrong.
