My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way believes that his band’s theatrics have paved the way for other acts like Panic! At The Disco.
The emo favourites are notorious for their extravagant stage shows and overblown videos.
Asked whether he respects Panic! for following their lead, Way told Gigwise: “I think I back what a band like that does. I think it’s good. I mean we didn’t start being a theatrical band so we could be the only one.
“We started it so we could inspire other acts to do that too.”
Way also told us that he’s looking forward to the ultimate date on My Chemical Romance’s spring tour at London’s Wembley Arena.
He added: “Yeah, Wembley’s like a dream. Wembley’s like playing MSG (Madison Square Garden) in New York.
“It’s that thing you always hear about and the fact that we’re getting to play Wembley Arena is phenomenal. That’s the only way to describe it.”
