Slayer have had their latest album pulled from the shelves in India after religious groups complained about its front cover.
EMI Music in India withdrew copies of ‘Christ Illusion’ which has an image of a mutilated Jesus on the front sleeve.
The picture depicts Jesus with amputated limbs and one eye standing in a field full of amputated heads.
Joseph Dias of the Catholic Secular Reform in Mumbai led the protests saying the album was “offensive and in very bad taste.”
The record label say that they withdrew the album because they did not want to offend any religious groups within the country.
Tracks included on the album include ‘Skeleton Christ’, ‘Cult’ and ‘Jihad.’
