Jay-Z has been banned from performing a concert in Shanghai because officials deem his shows too profane.
Chinese concert promoter Sun Yun revealed that Ministry of Culture officials pulled the plug on the gig because of the rapper’s “vulgar language.”
They are thought to be worried Jay-Z’s explicit references to drugs, sex, pimps, guns and violence.
The October 23 gig would have marked the rapper’s first concert in China.
In a similar move, The Rolling Stones were forced to cut songs from their set in Shanghai that had explicit sexual references.
