Snow Patrol Score UK's First Top Five US Single In 13 Years

Snow Patrol have become the first British band in 13 years to get into the top five of America’s singles charts.

The band’s ‘Chasing Cars’ climbed to number five in this week’s Billboard charts, after being featured on hit US TV show Grey’s Anatomy.

Snow Patrol follow in the hallowed footsteps of Duran Duran and UB40 who both made it into the US's top five in 1993, which gives you a good idea of the kind of bands our American cousin's dig.

The four-piece have just returned from the States to promote their upcoming British single ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar’, which is released on 13 November.

    • I’m sure this is inaccurate. Didn’t other awful acts such as Take That with Back for Good in 1996 and James Blunt earlier this year grace the top 5 as well??? research?

    • you are correct, those horrid, torrid British acts did enter the top 5 but they were not bands. Unless you take the name boy band to be literal. ”first British band .”
