US rapper Cassidy has been left in a critical condition after a car crash on Wednesday night.
The star was in the passenger seat of a vehicle on the way to a New York studio when a track collided with Cassidy’s side of the vehicle.
According to a statement, he was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull, plus broken facial bones.
He has since undergone a scan which found that his brain activity is normal. His injuries are thought to be non-life threatening.
In a statement to mtv, Cassidy’s colleague and friend Swizz Beatz said: “Cass is like my brother, and this has been such a rough year for him. We're all praying and staying positive during this time.
“Thanks to everyone for their continued support, and please keep Cassidy and his family in your prayers.”
