Ten classic White Stripes tracks have been given an orchestral make-over for a new album.
The project has been devised by XL Records head Richard Russell, who felt that Jack and Meg’s songs were open to a new interpretation.
Together with composer Jody Talbot, they put together an orchestra of young musicians to perform tracks like ‘Little Bird’, ‘Let’s Build A Home’ and ‘The Littlest Button to Button.’
Dubbed ‘Aluminium’, the album will be able from November 6 via XL.
In a physical format, the release has been limited to just 3,333 copies on CD and 999 12” vinyls. However, it will be available to download.
The track-listing is as follows:
Aluminum
I'm Bound To Pack It Up
Why Cant You Be Nicer To Me?
Astro
Never Far Away
Little Bird
Let's Build a Home
Who's a Big Baby?
The Hardest Button to Button
Forever for Her (Is Over for Me)
