Emo merchants My Chemical Romance have explained their new album is “very dark” because – wait for it - ghosts kept invading the recordings.
The band cut their ‘The Black Parade’ at Los Angeles’ Paramour Estate and suffered a series of supernatural occurrences – including singer Gerard Way being almost strangled in his sleep by one evil spectre.
Well, that’s bound to flavour your goth rock, isn’t it?
Guitarist Frank Iero, apparently with a straight face, explains, “He felt this pressure on his neck, and he woke up and couldn't breathe and there was something inside my wall making crazy noises.
"Doors would suddenly open and slam shut. It was pretty scary, and that's why some of the stuff on the new record is very dark."
Spooooooky.
