Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello was one of 400 people arrested last night during a protest march in Los Angeles.
Morello and around 2,000 protestors were campaigning for immigrant hotel workers’ rights when some got taken in by the law.
The guitarist performed under his alias Nightwatchman before the march and was subsequently arrested with unlawful assembly.
Police say that Morello refused to move from Century Boulevard to the more convenient site of the entrance to the LA International Airport.
Speaking to MTV before the march, Morello said: “In these political dark ages, it's important for us to stand up for one another.
"These hotel workers by the airport make 20 percent less wages than hotel workers around the rest of Los Angeles.
“We're here to express our solidarity with them, to help them unionize and to help them close the gap between their sub-poverty wages and the millions and millions of dollars the people who own these hotels make.”
Most of those arrested were willingly detained, with some even giving the LAPD their driving licence numbers before the march.
