The Hidden Cameras deliver 'Awoo', the title track from their third album, with plenty of panache. Describing what they do as "gay church folk music", the Canadian indie-pop spectacle blend together pieces of The Moldy Peaches and the plinky-plonky sound of The Spinto Band into a pretty little summer tune. Also dubbed 'anti-folk', the band clearly experiment with theatrical melodies and American folk music, which makes a fairly pleasant number. B-side 'Why I Understand' is much more up-beat and catchy than the single itself. Promising.
