‘System Overload’ is everything you want from a Datsuns single, a straight up, balls out rock song. The big riffs and fantastically shouty vocals make this track impossible to ignore but it is no great departure from the Kiwis debut album material. They’ve possibly slipped into their niche already and seem intent on putting out these nuggets of pure rock until all our heads spontaneously collapse from too much fret wanking. All in all it’s another good foot tapping track but perhaps time to inject some variety into their next release.
