French funked-up-disco-house connoisseurs Cassius are back in vivacious form with ‘Toop Toop.’ Popcorn Song-esque beeps, Zdar’s shouty vocals, funky as fook basslines and infectious guitar riffs are order of the day on what is instantaneously a catchy as hell tune. After a few listens though, it all becomes a tad one-dimensional and lacks the glittering flair of some of their earlier outputs. Luckily there is a stellar remix package to bolster the single - namely German tech-house whiz Oliver Koletski’s almost old skool break down, Mr Oizo’s unhinged, spliced mash up and Martin Eyerer’s minimal interpretation.
