A new study has revealed that people who listen to DJ-based dance music are more likely to take drugs than anyone else.
2,500 people were interviewed for the study carried out by the University of Leicester, which assessed various aspects of their lifestyle in relation to their musical tastes.
Elsewhere, it was found that more than a quarter of people who listen to classical music have tried Cannabis, while people who listen to blues music are more likely to receive a driving penalty.
Hip-hop and dance music fans are more likely to have had more sexual partners over the last five years, and they also topped the drug-tasters list.
Dr Aiden North told the BBC: “It comes out in the study that, in these types of music (hip-hop and dance), fans score worse in various behaviours, such as criminality, sexual promiscuity and drug use.
"It was shown that this had nothing to do with their ethnic backgrounds. The behaviour was linked purely to musical taste in its own right."
On the other side of the scale, people who prefer musicals had the lowest level of drug-taking, drinking and criminal behaviour.
The University are now looking to expand their research by surveying 10,000 people.
