It’s entirely appropriate that ‘A Town Called Hypocrisy’ features Lostphropets' most accessible video to date – the band dresses as kids TV presenters – as it may mark the point at which, like many a Britrock group before them – Idlewild, Feeder etc – they go from just having a few catchy tunes to being almost a pop group. For this really is very hook laden indeed with some a lot of radio-friendly guitar work. The fairly simplistic lyrics don’t add too much to the already overflowing well of songs about general hypocrisy and fakeness, though.
