Richard Hawley and Lou Rhodes have seen sales of their respective Mercury Prize nominated albums rocket.
Both artists’ album sales have soared by over 300% according HMV even though they didn’t win the award.
Winners Arctic Monkeys have seen sales rise by a more modest 66% having already sold over one million copies.
Nine of the albums on the shortlist saw sales rise though the efforts from Muse, Guillemots and Thom Yorke were released too recently for comparisons to be made.
