Shaun Ryder has forked out £10,000 on a new set of gnashers.
The Happy Mondays frontman had not visited a dentist in an astonishing 20 years before he eventually decided to turn himself in.
After an initial check-up the 44-year-old spent six hours in the dentist’s chair where he got every one of his teeth either capped or replaced.
Lance Knight is the man who fixed his teeth at a state-of-the-art Manchester surgery. He said: “Shaun’s teeth were as bad as you can get. Every tooth needed something doing to it.
“He hasn’t liked dentists in the past, but we had a few consultations before any of the work was done.
“We got quite friendly so it was more like a ‘mates’ thing for him – which he obviously found less intimidating.”
Mr Knight continued: “He needed a full mouth rehab and was in the chair for a bout six hours.
“But he was a good patient and was able to watch MTV while we carried out the various procedures.”
