Keith and Bombay Bicycle Club have been named as the winners of the Road to V competition.
4000 bands entered the coveted competition, with a final shortlist of 14 performing at Carling Academy venues which were screened on Channel Four.
Manchester four-piece Keith won the northern leg of the competition, while Bombay Bicycle Club won the south.
The result means that Keith will open the V Festival in Staffordshire on Saturday, while Bombay Bicycle Club will kick-start Chelmsford. Both acts will then play the respective festivals the next day.
The winners were selected by a panel of industry experts.
The runners up were Sunny Days Set Fire and those hotly-tipped boys The Holloways.
