Not content with readying the release of a new album of their own material The Walkmen are also planning a special tribute record.
The New Yorkers have recorded a song by song recreation of Harry Nilsson’s 1974 LP ‘Pussy Cats’ which will hit shops on October 23.
The album was apparently recorded while the five piece were finishing their latest offering ‘A Hundred Miles Off’ and will feature a 20 minute behind the scenes documentary filmed by Norman Coady.
It will also see appearances from Manzarin’s Quentin Stoltzfus, Make Up singer Ian Svenonius, Rockwell, and Alessandra Maria of Tomorrow’s Friends.
The album was recorded with a 41 strong choir and The Walken are apparently planning several live dates to recreate the release.
