    Morrissey Attacks His Former Label

    The Meltdown festival opened last night with an outburst from the curator of the event, Morrissey.

     

    The former Smith’s frontman is hosting the event, held at the Royal Festival Hall in London and last night spoke ill of his former label EMI.

     

    His beef being that EMI have recently re-released two DVD’s that Morrissey was not in favour of, and he told the audience, "EMI have just released two DVDs of truly atrocious quality. I beg you, don't buy them."

     

    The two DVD’s, ‘Hulmerist’ and ‘Malady Lingers On’ are Emi’s way of making some dosh off the back of the former recluses massive commercial success of ‘You Are The Quarry’.

     

    There is no doubt that Morrissey enjoyed his performance last night, with several changes of clothes and discarding sweaty items into the audience, he said, "I had to take the wet shirt off, or I'd end up with a shocking cold."

     

    Before the end, the big man thanked the audience for buying the album and joked, "If there's anyone with the surname Keane, they better leave the building now."

     

    Morrissey has two more shows during The Meltdown Festival on June 25 and 26.
