The Clerks is a great name for a band and ‘The Dissidents’ a title that evokes exactly the kind of politically charged excitement of rebellion and revolution you’d want from a French group now decamped to Manchester. The song doesn’t disappoint, with manic vocals shouting “The dissidents conned me” over driving, frenetic guitar and sizzling synths. It’s all held together with a militaristic dynamism and passion, i.e. it rocks and B side ‘Still’ is a fine tune too.
