Thom Yorke’s website at XL has launched an incentive to get fans from around the globe registering on their mobile phones which then puts their location on a world map on the site.
Called ‘Moblip’, fans simply have to register their mobile phone number here, they will then receive a text which takes you to Thom Yorke music for the phone.
Everyone who enters will get a free ringtone featuring a song from ‘The Eraser.’
The world map then records the exact location of everyone who has registered their phone here.
So far fans from as far flung destinations as Afghanistan, Indonesia and Brazil have registered their phone. The map is continuously updated as more people sign up for the anonymous service.
Thom Yorke’s ‘The Eraser’ is out now through XL Records.
