And fans could be set to see more shows from The Vines with the news that they are planning to announce a series of gigs.

Manager Andy Kelly told fan site Dreamintheinsane: “The best news I have is that the band are ready to dip their toes in the performance waters again, and we will be announcing some shows soon.”

Speaking about the new band member Kelly added: “He is from the same part of town as Craig and Ryan, he grew up around Oatley in Sydney."

"A lovely gentleman and a great bass player he acquitted himself quite brilliantly tonight. Ryan met him a couple of years ago at a party and they have been friends for a few years.”

News of the shows is expected to come in the next couple of days.
