Deep Purple have vowed to honour a concert near Beirut despite the war ravaging the country.
The aging rockers say they will still play the Baalbeck Music Festival just outside the city on July 28.
They says that if organisers cancel the concert they will definitely come back for a rearranged show.
In a statement, frontman Ian Gillan said music has the power to eradicate the boundaries of war, saying: “There is a moment that begins on stage, when there are no managers, no journalists, no outside distractions -- just the band and the audience.
"This is the time when there is an unspoken exchange of energy between the fans and us that words can not describe. That makes all the other parts of the job worth it."
