More Crosbi

Well, they’ve shed three crux members, their album was pushed back by a good few months and they’ve duly been given a critical mauling from some quarters. 2006 isn’t shaping up too well for the (two remaining) Wrexham lads has it? Thankfully, they’ve chosen to release ‘Helayou’ as their new single and it’s one of their finer moments. Andy Jones’ nasally mock-scouse refrain that plagues most of their tracks is toned down in favour of softer, almost ethereal tones, and while the tune is no where near as epic as they were clearly aiming for, it’s actually quite touching. And then they go and spoil it all with a turgid cover of The Who’s ‘Substitute’ on the flip side. Why oh why oh why?
