Following the news that The Mars Volta are to return with a new album in August comes the announcement that fellow At The Drive-in spin off band Sparta are to release their third long player in the Autumn.
The band, which now only features Jim Ward and Tony Hajjar of ATDi following Paul Hinojos transfer to The Mars Volta last year, will release ‘Threes’ on October 9.
Speaking about the follow up to 2004’s ‘Porcelain’ Ward said: “Bands often talk about each new record as being an evolution, but in our case this album isn’t a step to where we’re going — we’re already there. This album marks our graduation.”
The track listing is:
Untreatable Disease
Crawl
Unstitch Your Mouth
Taking Back Control
Erase It Again
Atlas
The Most Vicious Crime
False Start
Weather The Storm
Red.Right.Return. (Straight In Our Hands)
Without A Sound
