After the all consuming success of Jack Johnson, James Blunt et al, the last thing we surely want is another male singer/songwriter with cheeky boy looks and a guitar under his wing? Unfeasibly young Paolo Nutini is the latest incarnation to grace our radio airwaves, yet devoid of whiney vocals he seems to have gone through the Freaky Friday transformation and appeared from the factory with the voice of a 40 year old. 'Last Request' could easily breeze by in a lift, a shop, even a garage and makes him the perfect blend to have with coffee in the local Starbucks. Ultimately, despite the interesting voice, he doesn’t grab your attention. It’ s a cheap stab at a loving ballad and lacks any pure emotion.
