The nominees have been announced for the first year of Canada’s Polaris Music Prize, their equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize.
The ten finalists have had their albums put forward after an extensive voting process including 120 judges.
The winners, who will receive a prize of $20,000, will be announced in a ceremony at Toronto’s Phoenix Theatre on September 18.
