The story of Jeff Buckley’s life is heading for onto the big screen.
Brian Jun, maker of ‘Steel City’, will write and direct the biopic, while Jeff’s mother Mary Guibert and Michelle Sy will produce the film.
Guibert was inspired to make the movie after last year writer-producer Train Houston made a book about the singer and his late father called ‘Dream Brother: The Lives & Music of Jeff & Tim Buckley.’
His mother says that she wanted to have a say in how Jeff was portrayed and so decided to work on the film.
She told billboard: "Over the years, the number of offers were unceasing, and I had resisted for so many reasons, one being that Hollywood, traditionally, did a lousy job of realistically portraying the life of people like Jeff.
"But the possibility that it could happen without my participation set me back to re-examine why I wasn't doing it."
Jeff Buckley died in mysterious circumstances drowning in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997 at the age of 30.

- James Franco. All the way. The resemblence is scary.

- I have been a fan of Jeff Buckleys for nearly 15 years, it is about time a proper movie was done , James Franco would be my choice to play Jeff.

- I agree that robert pattinson would be a wonderful casting choice, because he's still a bit unknown, but big enough to get a draw.
I would absolutely love to see him play this part, because he has said he really wants it and he would put his heart in it
